Chosen Family
Chosen Family is an Amsterdam foundation building spaces for queer, gay, trans, and gender-diverse people: our own and the ones others are starting.
We run KNIT. We help new projects get off the ground.
We're still figuring plenty out, but enough of it works that we want to share what we've got.
Part of why we exist is to help others start their own things: an event, a space, something else entirely.
The boring stuff eats the energy you wanted to spend on the thing itself: legal, bookkeeping, equipment, staff. We'd rather share what we've got (infrastructure, gear, what we've picked up running KNIT) than keep it to ourselves.
Your identity, your values, your community stay yours. Chosen Family is the foundation underneath; what you build on top is yours.
KNIT
A club night for gay, bi, and trans men. Loud, sweaty, unapologetic. The room we wished existed, so we made it.
KNIT COLLABS
KNIT teaming up with other collectives to throw open parties. Less curation, more crossover. Anyone is welcome.
Chosen Family Stichting is a registered Dutch foundation, based in Amsterdam. We exist to create spaces for queer, gay, trans, and gender-diverse people, and to support the projects and people that build culture around them.
What we make goes back into the work.
